Rancho Mirage Spearheads the Community Choice Aggregation Program
Rancho Mirage is also leading the way by implementing the Coachella Valley’s first Community Choice Aggregation program, or CCA. The City formed the Rancho Mirage Energy Authority (RMEA) in order to offer all Rancho Mirage residents electricity that was generated in a cleaner way than the power available from Southern California Edison and at a lower cost. The City and RMEA also supported those residents who wanted to join their neighbors and move even further to 100% clean, renewable energy through solar with a $500 rebate and a doubling of the payment received if a resident provides a net amount of excess energy after 12 months.
